Excited this afternoon, my solitary bee cocoons have arrived with their very own bee house. The cocoons should hatch out in a couple of weeks. The bees return to the place they hatch to nest, so hopefully my garden and my neighbours will be full of Red Mason bees,Osmia Rufa, come summer and in future years.
The house should be situated a couple of feet above ground level.
Doing my best to get my garden back to being the nature reserve it was before fecearmi last summer, although it will be a long time before the new hedge provides a safe nesting place.
