Freshly picked from the vegetable garden for my supper. Marrowfat peas, corgettes, strawberries and the last of the logan berries.
I'm really pleased with my vegetable garden, it's not very big but I have been continuously harvesting from it since the strawberries last year. I was virtually living on Kale over winter, then spinach and leeks. The onions I planted over winter have just finished, but I have more coming although I won't be doing them from seed next year. I have peas and broad beans I'm picking now and of coarse the courgettes. Think I'm the courgette queen, last year I had 3 plants and was inundated, this year the whole packet germinated and after giving some away I'm left with 5 plants so if anyone has any good recipes .......
And now for a quick look at what is growing out there.
Red cabbage, planted yesterday.
Onions, and spinach.
Courgettes and strawberries on top of the compost bins.
The only red cabbage from last winter.
Purple sprouting broccolli, from seed which survived the mini greenhouse being blown over.
Broad beans which also survived the mini greenhouse disaster
As did the peas.
It's quite a small area really.
Spring greens and strawberries.
And another disaster tonight, the hose came off the tap while I was watering and drowned my mixed salad seedlings.
